Parlor Sports: An Introduction

Updated: Dec 3

Sports have a profound impact in the world we live in whether we like it or not. If you grew up in the greatest country in the history of the world, there's a strong chance you were forced into playing a sport at an early age.

You are a product of two possible ways to respond to this. You either discovered you can perform physical activities better than others, and were praised for it. Or, you discovered you were physically inferior to your peers, and were shamed for it. Either way, this is a strong reason for why you are who you are.

If you fell into the "can perform physical activities better than others" category, than this is the place for you. If you didn't, than this is also the place for you. I'm starting this sports blog not because I'm qualified to, or because of my merit. My sports brain is no better than someone who grew up around sports, participated in sports with minor success, and partakes in casual shit talking about sports at local bars with friends.

I'm starting this sports blog because I believe in community. I believe there is nothing better than listening to outraged fans who have been pushed to their emotional limits. I believe in having a shitty opinion and sharing that shitty opinion to people who didn't ask. I believe that a sports blog can distract decent tax paying citizens just enough from their mundane lives to convince them that everything will be okay.

Final Thoughts

Whether or not this belief will be shared is up to you. You can stay a while, find something you like, and share your thoughts. Or, you can keep scrolling and forget any of this happened. Whatever you chose, be confident in knowing that no matter what happens in your will free life, you will return to the bottomless pit of black nothingness you were before.
